 Nigeria Approves New Indigenous Meat-Type Chicken ‘MoorBeta’ The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has welcomed the approval and release of MoorBeta, an improved indigenous meat-type chicken developed to support poultry production and food security in Nigeria. The new breed was approved for release and registration by the National Crop Varieties and Livestock Breeds Registration and Release Committee (NVRC) on March 26, 2026, at the National Centre for Genetic Resources and Biotechnology (NACGRAB), Ibadan, Oyo State.  MoorBeta was developed by the Poultry Research Team of the Institute of Agricultural Research and Training (IAR&T), Obafemi Awolowo University, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, after more than a decade of breeding work involving indigenous and exotic meat-type chickens. A BABY WITH A TAIL  A full‑term baby is delivered without complications. During the newborn examination, a soft, skin‑covered appendage is noted at the lower back, just above the gluteal cleft. It measures about 11cm in length. There is no movement. No bone is felt within it. The parents are anxious. “Is this a tail?” You are the clinician. What is this condition?   And what must you rule out before considering removal? Please advise needed
