K'ori je a ri eni rere ba ri Aliko Dangote Speaks Out on Why He Distanced Himself from Tony Elumelu In 2021, when the refinery I was building was only half-completed, I ran out of funds to continue the project. I reached out to many of my business colleagues for financial assistance, including Femi Otedola, Abdulsamad Rabiu, and Mike Adenuga. I also reached out to Tony Elumelu. He promised to assist me with $20 million, and I believed him to be a man of his word. However, after three months passed without hearing from him, I tried to get in touch, only to discover that he had blocked my contact everywhere. I was unable to reach him and felt truly heartbroken.  Fortunately, my other business colleagues came together and raised $500 million for me. Femi Otedola will always be my brother for life; he alone contributed $300 million toward that $500 million total. FACT CHECK: Is the Government Really Collecting ₦5,000 Tax Per Bag of Cement? Here is the Truth  By: Adeboye Prinnce Adetu  Date: April 25, 2026 Introduction A dangerous piece of misinformation has been circulating widely on social media and WhatsApp groups in Nigeria. The claim suggests that the Federal Government collects a flat tax of ₦5,000 (or as high as ₦6,240) on every single bag of cement sold by manufacturers. With cement prices currently fluctuating across the country, this rumour has sparked anger and confusion among builders, block moulders, and farmers who rely on cement for rural infrastructure. After thorough fact-checking, we can confirm that this claim is FALSE. Here is the breakdown of the actual situation. The Claim vs. Reality The False Claim: Several social media posts allege that for every 50kg bag of cement sold for roughly ₦7,000 to ₦8,000, the government taxes the manufacturer ₦5,000, leaving the company with only ₦2,000. Some posts even quoted "52 kob...

Jehovah Witnesses a ‘Destructive Sect’

Jehovah Witnesses a ‘Destructive Sect’ Spainish court declared  By IgboNews Analysis Team A landmark legal earthquake has struck the global religious landscape. In a ruling that has sent shockwaves from Madrid to Lagos, the Provincial Court of Spain has ruled that Jehovah’s Witnesses can legally be labeled a “destructive sect” without fear of defamation suits. For decades, the US-based evangelical movement used European libel laws as a shield, silencing critics and former members who spoke of alleged internal abuse. That shield was shattered on April 16, 2026. For Africa, which hosts some of the fastest-growing congregations of Jehovah’s Witnesses, this ruling is not just European news—it is a direct challenge to the organization’s authority and growth trajectory on the continent. The Ruling: Why the Court Spoke Out The Madrid Provincial Court upheld a complaint by the Spanish Association of Jehovah’s Witnesses Victims (AEVTJ). In a scathing verdict, the judges ruled that des...

Monster in Uniform: How a South African Policewoman Killed 6 Family Members for Insurance Payouts TEMBISA, South Africa – For six years, death followed Constable Nomia Rosemary Ndlovu like a shadow. But unlike ordinary citizens who pray for protection, the people closest to her simply vanished—one by one, in blood-soaked tragedies. Between 2012 and 2018, this serving officer at the Tembisa Police Station turned life insurance into a killing spree. She buried her sister. Then cashed out $38,000 (approx. R700,000). She buried her boyfriend—stabbed 76 times. Collected $22,000. Then her niece. Her nephew. Her cousin. All dead. By the time the last body dropped, six people were in their graves. And $75,000 had landed in her bank account. Ndlovu’s luck ran out in 2018. She hired a hitman to finish off her last remaining obstacle—a sister who was still alive, along with her five-month-old baby. The hitman’s instructions were unthinkable: Burn them alive in their shack. But when the hired kill...

Supreme Court Showdown: Every Legal Pathway for Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero to Reclaim the Kano Emirate Throne. By: Mukhtar Kabir Maitama. mkmaitama@gmail.com As Nigeria’s Supreme Court prepares to deliver its long-awaited judgment on the Kano Emirate dispute possibly as early as April 2026 all eyes are on Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the 15th Emir of Kano. The case, which stems from the controversial Kano State Emirate Council (Repeal) Law 2024 enacted by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, has traversed lower courts with conflicting rulings on jurisdiction, fair hearing, due process, and the limits of state power over traditional institutions. While the political and traditional stakes are enormous, the legal battle hinges on constitutional interpretation, procedural fairness, and precedents in chieftaincy matters. Bayero’s legal team, led by key kingmakers like Alhaji Aminu Babba Danagundi (Sarkin Dawaki Babba), has consistently argued that his dethronement alongside the creation of splinter emirate...

DAVID mark, Aregbesola at dead end

INEC and the ADC Leadership Dispute: Legal Obligations Under Status Quo Ante Bellum The genesis of INEC’s position in the ADC leadership dispute traces back to the NEC meeting of 29th July 2025, which produced a new leadership led by David Mark following the purported resignation of the Ralph Nwosu-led executive. However, Hon. Nafiu Bala Gombe, who denies resigning as Vice National Chairman, approached the Federal High Court Abuja claiming entitlement to the chairmanship. He sought to restrain both the David Mark-led executive and INEC from recognising the new leadership, filing a motion ex parte and a motion on notice for an interlocutory injunction ante bellum. Rather than granting the ex parte application, His Lordship, Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite rightly ordered that parties be put on notice. However, instead of responding on the merits, the David Mark-led executive filed an appeal challenging that decision, an action that has significantly contributed to the present legal impass...
