 Security Forces Arrest Notorious Kidnap Kingpin “Gwandara 01” in Bwari, Abuja

Security operatives have arrested a notorious kidnapping kingpin and major logistics supplier to bandit groups, identified as Y’au Ibrahim Dauda, popularly known as “Gwandara 01.”


According to information obtained by Zagazola Makama, Dauda was captured by the Scorpion Squad at about 5:40 p.m. on Thursday in Bwari, following a well-coordinated intelligence led operation.


Sources revealed that Dauda has long been on the wanted list of multiple security agencies for his alleged involvement in several high-profile and coordinated kidnapping incidents across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) particularly within the Bwari axis from 2024 to date.


Further investigations have linked the suspect to numerous abductions in the Garam area of Tafa Local Government Area in Niger State, as well as within Bwari, including the 2024 kidnapping of a pastor at the El-Rufai Estate, near the Nigerian Law School, Bwari.


Security sources added that operations are ongoing to track down other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover their weapons.
